Public Information Meeting for SR 40 improvements

Volusia County There will be a public information meeting for the State Road (SR) 40 design project from SR 15/US 17 to west of SR 11 in Volusia County. The meeting is on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Volusia Lodge No. 77 Free and Accepted Masons (F & AM) - Pine St and SR 40, Barberville, FL 32105.

The meeting will be an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The purpose of this informal open house is to present the design concept of this improvement project to the public. Project maps, drawings and other pertinent information will be on display for public review. FDOT staff and others associated with the project will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.

The project involves the widening of SR 40 to four lanes from SR 15/US 17 to west of SR 11. The project includes milling and resurfacing of the existing roadway to serve as westbound travel lanes and new roadway construction for eastbound travel lanes. Work also includes the construction of four wildlife crossing box culverts and a 12-foot wide, paved, multi-use trail on the south side of the road.
