Resurfacing and other Improvements on US Highway 27

 

Marion County – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) advises users of US 27 in Fellowship and Ocala to be on the lookout for resurfacing work starting Feb. 2, 2015. The project limits extend on US Highway 27 from west of County Road 326 in Fellowship, to Pine Avenue in Ocala.  The project’s total distance is 14 miles, and will include portions of US Highway 27 that are also known as Bonnie Heath Boulevard, NW Blitchton Road, and NW 10th Street.

 

The scheduled work by Anderson Columbia Co., Inc. includes:

·         Milling and resurfacing

·         Drainage improvements

·         Ditch re-grading

·         Signing and pavement markings upgrades

·         Improved accessibility for those with disabilities per the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

·         Signalization and concrete sidewalks

 

The total contract amount is $13.9 million. The estimated completion is in early 2016, with 352 days contacted for construction.

 

Motorists and other travelers should expect lane closures along US Highway 27 during the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Up-to-date project information will be posted to the Central Florida FDOT web site at www.cflroads.com.
