Affects the Intersection at US 17-92 and State Road (SR) 436—and Others

Seminole County – The US 17-92 flyover project at State Road (SR) 436 reaches another milestone as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and contractor Lane Construction Corporation move on to the next phase of the project, as the contractor installs what are called “Texas U-Turn” lanes.

The new configuration will feature a turnaround, under the flyover bridge, that allows vehicles to transition to the other directional lanes on US 17-92 and proceed in the opposite direction; bypassing traffic signals. This new configuration is expected to be open for use by 6 a.m. Monday, January 26. In conjunction, the signals at Fernwood Boulevard and Live Oaks Boulevard will be out of service.

The more than $21 million flyover project is expected to wrap up late this year.
