Upgraded I-95 is Complete

South of Malabar Road to the Indian River County Line

Brevard County- The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Lane Construction are announcing the completion of the Interstate 95 widening project from the Brevard County line to south Malabar Road (SR 514).

The nearly 12.5 mile project began January 2012. It expands I-95 from four lanes, to six lanes. The project included replacing the Fellsmere Bridge and C54 Canal Bridge, as well as widening the Solite Canal Bridge. Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) upgrades will assist with traffic monitoring and management. Underground drainage and new guardrails are also added. The cost is approximately $51.7 million.

Currently, more than 35,000 vehicles travel this roadway daily. These new improvements are expected to address the anticipated growth in traffic surrounding the I-95 corridor in south Brevard County.
