Overpass Work and Temporary, Nighttime Detour on I-4 near Daytona Beach
Volusia County – Work along the Interstate 4 project in Volusia County continues to reach critical milestones and more traffic pattern changes are coming—overnight and temporary. The most recent requires detouring eastbound I-4 traffic while large bridge beams are placed over I-4 near Daytona Beach.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and its contractor, The de Moya Group, are planning overnight detours on eastbound I-4 during the nights of December 9, 10 and 11 (overnight Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). The detours are occurring on the construction corridor between US 92 and I-95. The rerouting directs I-4 eastbound drivers off the interstate and onto US 92, then to I-95. The detour is from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for each night of closure.
Times and dates could change based on weather conditions and other variables, and updates will be provided if the schedule is modified.
Message boards and detour signs will be in place throughout the zone guiding drivers through the area. For the most up-to-date information on road and lane closures, go to www.cflroads.com and click on ‘Lane Closures’.
