Public Hearing to Discuss Future Plans of State Road (SR) 518 in the Eau Gallie Area

Brevard County- The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting a public hearing regarding the proposed improvements to State Road (SR) 518, from west of Mosswood Drive to east of Pineapple Avenue. The project will consist of roadway resurfacing, upgrading of signing and pavement markings, a safe pedestrian path at Stewart Avenue, Access Management improvements at Cypress Avenue, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility improvements, as well as aesthetic improvements within the Eau Gallie Arts District. The project is funded for construction which is expected to begin in Spring 2016.


The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 16, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Eau Gallie Public Library located at 1521 Pineapple Avenue in Melbourne. The meeting will hold an open house from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. a project presentation will be given with a court reporter present to record the public comments. After the presentation, representatives of the FDOT will be available to discuss the improvements and answer questions you may have.


The department invites your participation and welcomes your comments on the proposed improvements.  Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.
