The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting an
Alternatives Public Meeting for the Malabar Road PD&E Study. We will
present design alternatives for widening Malabar Road from a two lane to a four
lane facility. Study limits extend from Babcock Street (State Road 507) to US
1, a distance of approximately 3.64 miles. The need for this widening is based
on projected increases in traffic volume.
The meeting is Tuesday, May 6, 2014
at the Palm Bay (Health First) Hospital Auditorium located at 1425 Malabar Road
NE in Palm Bay. It is an open house from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Attendees
may review study information, watch an automated video presentation and discuss
the design alternatives with the study team. This meeting provides interested
persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the social, economic
and environmental impacts of the proposed design alternatives.
Public participation is
solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion,
disability or family status. Persons who require special accommodations
under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation
services (free of charge) should contact Jazlyn Heywood, FDOT Project Manager,
