Orlando – Motorists traveling Orange Avenue (SR 527), south of downtown Orlando may need to budget extra time on Sunday, September 25. The southbound lanes of Orange Avenue, between Columbia Street and Underwood Street, will be closed at the main campus of Orlando Health. A crane needs to position itself in the southbound lanes to hoist a large air conditioning unit atop a building.
Southbound traffic will be re-routed to northbound Orange Avenue, making for two-way traffic in that section. The closure is scheduled between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, September 25.
Motorists are urged to drive safely in the construction zone.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) also wants you to buckle up. Safety belts save lives.
