Overhead Sign Installation on US 441 in Ocala
Marion County – Motorists in downtown Ocala should be on
the lookout for temporary night time lane closures as the Florida Department of
Transportation and contractor, Infrastructure Corporation of America, remove
and replace overhead ‘green’ signs at several locations along US 441 (Pine
Avenue) and State Road (SR) 40 / Silver Springs Boulevard.
Beginning Sunday December 8th
and continuing each night until the job is completed, multiple lanes in each
direction on US 441 and SR 40 – at the Pine Avenue & Silver Springs Boulevard
intersection and on south US 441 just north of US 27 – will be temporarily
closed. Contractor personnel will be removing overhead signs with failing
reflectivity and replacing them with new ones. Work is to begin each night
after 9 p.m. with the road fully reopened by 7 a.m. The job is expected to
complete within 5 to 7 days. No work is scheduled for Friday December 13th
or Saturday December 14th.
Weather conditions and other
unforeseen circumstances could alter work schedules.
