FDOT Hosts Food Trucks at Minneola Park & Ride Lot in Minneola, Lake County

reThink and The Food Truck Bazaar partner to promote local food trucks and vanpooling

Minneola – Food truck fare is on the menu as the Florida Department of Transportation District 5 office spotlights the Park & Ride lot at 401 N. US Hwy 27, Minneola, FL 34715, located one mile south of City Hall.

reThink, the District’s Regional Commuter Assistance Program, tasked with promoting 14 Park & Ride lots in Central Florida, is partnering with The Food Truck Bazaar to host food trucks at the lot on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Commuters are invited to stop by on their way home to check out the lot and grab dinner from the food trucks.

The Minneola Park & Ride lot is intended for commuters to use as a central meeting location for carpool and vanpool groups. The lot features 101 parking spaces that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. With the launch of the Lake County Vanpool program, this lot provides a location for commuters to park their personal vehicles for free and complete their journey to work in a vanpool. Vanpool vehicles will be on display at the lot on Thursday night courtesy of vRide and Rideshare by Enterprise.

Park & Ride lots reduce the number of vehicles on the road each day. This helps reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, conserve natural resources, and brings significant savings to commuters.

Commuters interested in finding a nearby Park & Ride lot or a carpool/vanpool partner should contact reThink at 1-866-610-RIDE (7433) or check out their website, www.reThinkYourCommute.com. Staff will also be onsite the night of the event to provide individual assistance and answer questions about the program’s services.
