The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a public information meeting regarding the planned improvements to SR 40 in Volusia County. The proposed improvements include widening to a four-lane, divided roadway and include a paved, multi-use trail on the south side of the road. The improvements also include the milling and resurfacing of the existing roadway.
It begins west of SR 11 and extends west of Cone Road, a distance of approximately 7.6 miles. The project is currently not funded for the Right-of-Way Acquisition or construction phases.

The meeting is scheduled on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Oasis Church located at 85 South Tymber Creek Road in Ormond Beach. The meeting is an open house from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to present information to the public and to obtain comments about the proposed widening alternatives. Attendance is encouraged anytime during the open house to review project information and talk one-on-one with the design team.
