The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)is holding a public information meeting regarding the planned improvements to Babcock Street (State Road (SR) 507) in Brevard County. The project begins at Malabar Road (SR 514) and extends north to Palm Bay Road (CR 516), a distance of approximately 2.5 miles.

The proposed improvements include widening to a six-lane, divided roadway and will include bicycle lanes and sidewalks. The design will also include a northbound bridge replacement and a southbound bridge widening over the Melbourne-Tillman Canal.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Palm Bay Community Center located at 1502 Port Malabar Avenue NE in Palm Bay. The meeting is an open house from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to present
information to the public and to obtain comments from them about the proposed widening alternatives. Citizens can attend anytime during the open house to review project information and talk one-on-one with the design team.
