The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a public information meeting regarding plans to widen and improve the roadway along US 1 (SR 5) in Brevard County.


The project will widen US 1 in Cocoa from four lanes to six lanes. The project extends from north of Pine Street to north of Cidco Road. It also involves constructing raised medians, curb and gutter improvements, upgrading the existing signals, lighting, minor landscaping, upgrading pedestrian features to meet ADA requirements and the addition of bike lanes. The project is funded for construction in March 2013.


The meeting is scheduled Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Cocoa City Hall, 65 Stone Street, Cocoa, FL 32922. It will be an open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., where attendees may review project documents and discuss the project with staff.
