Marion County – Motorists and cyclists taking the Withlacoochee River or County Line Bridge in Dunnellon this weekend should be aware the overpass will be down to one lane for both directions as the Florida Department of Transportation makes improvements to the bridge. The closure limits extend from just before the Stumpknockers Restaurant to a little past the line into Citrus County.

The single lane closing schedule starts 7 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2013 and goes through to 6 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2013. Vehicles needing to cross the bridge will be directed by flaggers, alternating northbound and southbound traffic through the one open lane.

The bridge work includes wall replacement, drainage modifications and new guardrail installation. It is part of the SR 200 resurfacing project which began in late November, 2012 and is scheduled to continue into April, 2013. C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. is the contractor for the $2.2 million project.

Weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances could alter work schedules.

The Florida Department of Transportation urges the traveling public to use caution when driving, walking or cycling around, in, or near construction zones. All vehicle occupants should buckle up. Safety belts save lives.
