Seminole County – Motorists will encounter single lane closures on eastbound State (SR) Road 46, under the I–4 bridge, near Sanford. A temporary barrier wall is being installed to increase safety for the drivers and construction workers.
The work is occurring Friday night, December 14. The project hours are adjusted to take into account holiday shopping at the Seminole Towne Center Mall and other nearby shopping centers. Work begins at 10 p.m. It involves closing the outside lane of eastbound SR 46. The lane re-opens by 6 a.m. Saturday, December 15.
Be advised that weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances could affect construction schedules.
The Florida Department of Transportation urges motorists to drive carefully in construction zones, and that all vehicle occupants buckle up. Safety belts save lives.
The I-4 interchange project at SR 46 costs nearly $26 million. Project completion is scheduled for early 2013.
