Traffic Advisory: Temporary Closure of Northeast 36th Avenue

Ocala, Fla. Motorists should be advised that a detour will be in effect for a portion of Northeast 36th Avenue in Ocala on Saturday and Sunday, June 13 and 14 for workers to install large beams on a new bridge spanning the CSX rail crossing. The closure will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. between Northeast 21st Street and Northeast 24th Street.

Motorists heading south on Northeast 36th Avenue will be directed to turn right (west) on Northeast 24th Street, then left (south) on Northeast 25th Avenue to get to Northeast 14th Street or State Road 40. Motorists who want to go north on 36th Avenue are likewise asked to go north on 25th Avenue and then turn right (east) on Northeast 24th Street.

This work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) effort to widen Northeast 36th Avenue from two to four lanes between Northeast 20th Place and Northeast 25th Street. Additional project information is available online at www.CFLRoads.com.

Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone and allow extra time to navigate the area.

Modifications or extensions to these schedules may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.
