FDOT Plans New Traffic Signal on Eau Gallie Boulevard

Brevard County, Fla. - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is designing plans to construct a new traffic signal on Eau Gallie Boulevard (State Road 518) at Turtle Mound Road in Melbourne. This safety project also includes the extension of the right and left turn lanes onto Turtle Mound Road, along with the addition of high visibility crosswalk markings, pedestrian signals and lighting. Additional right of way will be needed for this project.

 

The community may learn more about the project at an open house Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, at Discover Life Church, 3550 W. Eau Gallie Boulevard, Melbourne, FL 32934. Attendees may come anytime between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to review project displays and to hold one-on-one conversations with the FDOT project team. There will be no project presentation.

FDOT urges all drivers to stay alert and use caution while driving through or near construction zones. When driving, walking, or bicycling, remember to pay attention and follow the rules. Safety doesn't happen by accident.
