U.S. 1 at Old Dixie Highway Entering Next Phase

Drivers Alerted to New Traffic Pattern for Northbound U.S. 1

Bunnell, Fla. Construction of the new roundabout on U.S. 1 at Old Dixie Highway near Bunnell will move into the next phase on Tuesday, July 30, marking the start of a new traffic pattern on U.S. 1.  

Northbound U.S. 1 traffic, which had been shifted onto an existing southbound lane, will move back onto the newly constructed outside northbound lane and use the northbound side of the roundabout. Southbound U.S. 1 traffic will remain in its current configuration.

Drivers will need to use the following movements:

• Traffic from Old Dixie Highway, County Road (C.R.) 325 and Trojan Avenue will all have to turn right onto northbound U.S. 1
• Traffic heading to southbound U.S. 1 from Old Dixie Highway, C.R. 325 or Trojan Avenue will make a U-turn north of the intersection to access southbound U.S. 1.
• Traffic from southbound U.S. 1 that wants to access Old Dixie Highway, C.R. 325 or Trojan Avenue will make a U-turn south of the intersection to access those roadways using northbound U.S. 1.

This pattern will allow the contractor to build the west side of the roundabout and inside southbound U.S. 1 travel lane. This phase is expected to last a few months.

Electronic message boards and other signage will be in place to alert drivers to the new pattern. Drivers are reminded that left turns from C.R. 325 to Old Dixie Highway are not permitted.
