Marion County, Fla. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public hearing on Thursday, July 18, about a proposed safety improvement on U.S. 27 at NW 115th Avenue, between County Roads 326 and 225.

The proposed improvement consists of converting the full median opening to a bi-directional opening that allows traffic on U.S. 27 to make left turns onto NW 115th Avenue, while traffic on NW 115th Avenue will only be able to make right turns onto U.S. 27. This reduces the number of conflict points at the intersection; thus, improving safety.

The hearing will be at the Fellowship Baptist Church located at 10500 U.S. 27, Ocala. It will begin as an informational open house at 5 p.m., during which time project displays and other information will be available for review. Staff also will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. A presentation will begin at 6 p.m., after which, participants may provide their verbal comments to all present.
