Interstate 95 at Pioneer Trail Interchange Public Meeting

Alternatives to be discussed

Volusia County, Fla. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has scheduled an alternatives public meeting for the Interstate 95 (I-95) at Pioneer Trail Interchange Project Development and Environmental (PD&E) Study with limits from Williamson Boulevard to Turnbull Bay Road in Volusia County. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 30, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Brannon Center in New Smyrna Beach.

The purpose of the study is to develop and evaluate options for a proposed interchange at I-95 and Pioneer Trail with the goal to relieve traffic congestion on the two adjacent interchanges north and south of the project: at Dunlawton Avenue (State Road (S.R.) 421) and at S.R. 44. The project also aims to support economic development associated with existing and approved future developments.

Attendees at the meeting can watch a video presentation that will be running on a continuous loop, review additional study information, and discuss the design alternatives with FDOT staff and study team representatives.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by the FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016 and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.
