Feedback Opportunity for Safety Improvements along East Colonial Drive

Orange County, Fla. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 2, about a proposed safety improvement on East Colonial Drive (State Road (S.R.) 50) at the intersection with Sherman Street.

The proposed improvement consists of modifying the existing full median opening at this intersection to a westbound directional opening. This will allow vehicles on westbound East Colonial Drive to turn left onto Sherman Street and vehicles on northbound Sherman Street to only turn right onto East Colonial Drive. This modification improves safety in the area by reducing the number of conflict points at this location.

The hearing will be at the Family Christian Academy/Genesis Church on Old Cheney Highway, and will begin as an informational open house at 5 p.m., during which time project displays and other information will be available for review. Staff also will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. A presentation will begin at 6 p.m., after which, participants may provide their verbal comments to all present.
