Traffic Alert: Westbound S.R. 434 Experiencing Delays Near I-4

Due to Gas Leak

Longwood Motorists traveling on westbound State Road (S.R.) 434 near Interstate 4 (I-4) will need to budget more time to get through the area due to emergency repair work. TECO gas representatives are on scene repairing a four inch gas line that was reportedly damaged by a subcontractor on the I-4 Ultimate project.

Two westbound lanes on S.R. 434, near I-4, are blocked off so gas crews can make repairs. Two lanes remain open. Mainline I-4 is not affected by the work. No timetable is available as to when all lanes on westbound S.R. 434 will reopen.

Alternate routes include westbound S.R. 436 to northbound Douglas Avenue; and, westbound S.R. 434 to northbound Rangeline Road, to westbound E.E. Williamson, to Markham Woods Road. You may also consult your GPS applications.

FDOT urges motorists to drive safely through this area, and through all construction zones.
