Feedback Opportunity for U.S. 27 (North 14th Street) Safety Improvements

 

Lake County - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public hearing on Thursday, Nov. 8 from 5-7 p.m. about safety and operational improvements on U.S. 27 (North 14th Street) at the Benton Street Trail Crossing (north of Center Street). The hearing will be held at The Leesburg Public Library.

The hearing will begin as an informational open house at 5 p.m., during which time project displays and other information will be available for review. Staff also will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. A presentation will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a public comment period.

The project proposes to reconfigure both sides of the trail crossing, and install a raised pedestrian refuge island in the center turn lane to include new signs and flashing beacons.
