Open House Scheduled for South Sumter Connector Trail

Sumter County The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold an open house for the proposed South Sumter Connector Trail on Tuesday, Oct. 23 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., at the Webster Community Hall. Throughout the evening, a continuous looping video as well as project displays showing trail options will be available for review. Project team members will also be available to address questions and receive comments.

This section of trail will be part of the larger Coast to Coast Trail network, which will extend nearly 250 miles from St. Petersburg to the Canaveral National Seashore in Titusville. The proposed trail segment would connect the Good Neighbor Trail in Hernando County to the Van Fleet Trail/South Lake Trail in Sumter County by adding a trail along County Road (C.R.) 673, U.S. Highway 301, C.R. 478, and State Road 471.
