U.S. 17/92 Detour at Lake Mary Boulevard in Sanford

Sanford Drivers traveling northbound on U.S. 17/92 toward Lake Mary Boulevard are advised of a weekend detour. The detour begins tonight, Aug. 24, and will last through about 6:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27. The contractor will be milling existing roadway, placing asphalt base and constructing concrete pavement.

 

The detour will involve the following:

• Closure of dual northbound left turn lanes approaching Lake Mary Boulevard.
• Closure of the inside northbound travel lane from Collins Drive to Lake Mary Boulevard.
• Northbound traffic transitioned to the outside right turn lane at Lake Mary Boulevard. Traffic can proceed northbound on U.S. 17/92, or turn right onto eastbound Lake Mary Boulevard.

• Drivers wanting to head westbound on Lake Mary Boulevard will be detoured to County Home Road/College Drive.

 

The work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to widen U.S. 17/92 from four to six lanes from Shepard Road to Lake Mary Boulevard. 

 

Please note this schedule may change due to weather or other unexpected conditions. Electronic message boards and other signage will be used to direct motorists. Construction updates are available on FDOT's Central Florida website, www.CFLRoads.com.
