Update: U.S. 17/92 in DeBary

Volusia County  The left, northbound lane of U.S. 17/92 at Hollow Pine Drive in DeBary has reopened, but motorists heading home during the evening rush hour can expect back-ups due to only one lane of U.S. 17/92 being open in that area. Earlier today, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) investigated and did temporary repairs to a depression that formed in the road. Geo-tech results suggest the depression was a sinkhole that opened in the right lane.

Drivers heading northbound will need to factor in extra time and exercise patience. FDOT is now working on a permanent repair solution, including work that calls for injecting grout-a type of fluid concrete-into the ground. More testing of the area will be needed before that occurs. Upcoming work could require additional closures and detours.
