Nighttime Traffic Pacing Operations on I-95 for Beam Placement

Brevard County - Motorists traveling southbound on Interstate 95 (I-95) in Indian River and Brevard counties can expect overnight traffic pacing operations July 9 and 10. The operations are needed to safely transport and set bridge beams for the new St. Johns Heritage Parkway interchange near Micco Road.

During the operation, Florida Highway Patrol troopers will slow southbound traffic to 20 mph beginning at the State Road (S.R.) 514/Malabar Road entrance ramp. Troopers will pace traffic for about 10 miles through the construction area located just north of Micco Road in Brevard County. Drivers can expect short delays between 10 p.m.  and 5 a.m.

A second pacing operation is scheduled for Monday, July 23, and Tuesday, July 24, beginning at the County Road (C.R.) 512/Fellsmere Road entrance ramp for northbound motorists.

Each operation should take two nights, but could require additional time if impacted by weather or other circumstances. Electronic message boards will be used to alert motorists of impacts.  Updates will be available on the FDOT's Central Florida website www.CFLRoads.com.

Media inquiries should be directed to the FDOT Communications Office at 386-943-5479 or d5-pio@dot.state.fl.us.

FDOT advises drivers to slow down and use extra caution in construction zones.
