Traffic Shift Planned for John Young Parkway in Orlando

Orange County Over the next three weeks, significant traffic pattern changes are expected on State Road (S.R.) 423/John Young Parkway between S.R. 50/West Colonial Drive and Shader Road.

The first traffic shift will take place Sunday, April 8 through Thursday, April 12, on the southbound lanes from Silver Star Road to Technology Drive. Southbound traffic will be shifted west onto the newly constructed temporary pavement. This will allow the contractor to work on the east side of the roadway.

The work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to widen S.R. 423/John Young Parkway from S.R. 50/West Colonial Drive to Shader Road. Please note construction schedules may change due to weather or other unforeseen events.

Electronic message boards will be used to alert motorists to lane closures and detours, and updates will be available on the FDOT's Central Florida website www.CFLRoads.com.

Media inquiries should be directed to the FDOT Communications Office at 386-943-5479 or d5-pio@dot.state.fl.us.

FDOT advises drivers to slow down and use extra caution in construction zones.
