Feedback Sought for U.S. 27 Safety Improvements in Marion County

Marion County - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will have a public hearing next Thursday, March 8, about safety improvements along U.S. 27 at the intersection of County Road (C.R.) 464B.

The project proposes converting the full median opening at that intersection to a bi-directional median opening. Northbound and southbound left turns from U.S. 27 will still be permitted, but the C.R. 464B intersection with U.S. 27 will be converted to right turns only. This modification reduces traffic conflict points at the intersection, improving safety.

The public hearing will open at 5 p.m. for viewing displays and discussion with project staff at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 10500 U.S. 27, Ocala, FL 34482. A formal presentation will begin at 6 p.m., followed by public comments.

Draft project documents are currently available for review through March 19, 2018 at the Marion County Public Library Headquarters, 2720 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34470.
