Public Information Meeting on Interstate 4 and Saxon Boulevard Interchange Improvements

Volusia County - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public information meeting next Wednesday, February 7, to discuss proposed improvements along Interstate 4 (I-4) at the Saxon Boulevard interchange. The meeting will be an open house format from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Gateway Center for the Arts, located at 880 N. U.S. Highway 17-92, DeBary, FL 32713. Attendees will have the opportunity to view displays and ask questions regarding the proposed improvements during the open house. Written comments will also be accepted at the meeting and for the following 10 days. There will be no formal presentation.

The proposed improvements are part of future, long-range plans to expand and improve I-4, beyond the current I-4 Ultimate project. These specific improvements focus on improving traffic flow at the eastbound I-4 exit to Saxon Boulevard by realigning the exit ramp, adding a traffic signal at the end of the ramp and adding a third lane on eastbound Saxon Boulevard between the ramp and the intersection of Finland Drive. Additionally, approximately four miles of I-4 will be resurfaced from west of Saxon Boulevard to east of State Road 472.

Public participation is sought without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status. Persons wishing to express their concerns relative to FDOT compliance with Title VI may do so by contacting Jennifer Smith, FDOT District Five Title VI Coordinator via email at Jennifer.Smith2@dot.state.fl.us.
