Traffic Alerts: Overnight Construction and Detours in the Daytona Beach Area

Affects Interstate 4 (I-4). I-95 and U.S. 92

 

Volusia County Drivers using I-4, I-95 and U.S. 92 in the Daytona Beach area should be alert to these traffic developments this week:

Alert 1

To accommodate the deck pouring activities for the new bridges that span U.S. 92, detours will be required on U.S. 92 in both directions. Activities will take place during the overnight hours of December 4, 5, 6 and 7 between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. These detours will be well marked. Travelers are advised to slow down, and follow the detour signs through construction zones. The posted detour is as follows:

 

U.S. 92 Eastbound Detour: December 4

  • Motorists traveling eastbound on U.S. 92 will be detoured at Tomoka Farms Road south to Bellevue Avenue, then to Williamson Boulevard north to U.S. 92 where both directions will be accessible.
  • The U.S. 92 eastbound on-ramp to I-95 northbound will be closed. Motorists will be detoured at Tomoka Farms Road south to Bellevue Avenue, then to Williamson Boulevard north to U.S. 92 westbound where I-95 northbound will be accessible. 
  • The I-95 southbound off-ramp to U.S. 92 eastbound (exit 261A) will be closed. Motorists will be detoured to LPGA Boulevard (Exit 265) to Williamson Boulevard south to U.S. 92 where both directions will be accessible. 
  • The following access will not be affected:
    • I-95 northbound off-ramp to U.S. 92 eastbound (exit 261)
    • I-95 southbound on-ramp from U.S. 92 eastbound

 

U.S. 92 Westbound Detour: December 5, 6 & 7

  • Motorists traveling westbound on U.S. 92 will be detoured at Williamson Boulevard south to Bellevue Avenue west to Tomoka Farms Road north to U.S. 92 where both directions will be accessible.
  • Motorists traveling northbound on I-95 looking to head westbound on U.S. 92 (exit 261) will be detoured eastbound on U.S. 92 to Williamson Boulevard south to Bellevue Avenue west to Tomoka Farms Road north to U.S. 92 where both directions will be accessible.
  • The following access will not be affected:
    • U.S. 92 westbound to I-95 Northbound on-ramp
    • I-95 southbound off-ramp to U.S. 92 westbound (Exit 261B)

Alert 2 

To accommodate construction activities at the Interstate 4 (I-4)/ State Road 400/Beville Road and Interstate 95 (I-95) interchange, detours will be required. Activities will take place during the overnight hours of December 5, 6 and 7 between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. These detours will be well marked. Travelers are advised to slow down, and follow the detour signs through construction zones.

The posted detour is as follows:

 

I-95 Southbound Off-Ramp to I-4/S.R. 400/Beville Road Eastbound Closed December 5

  • Motorist will be detoured at Exit 261A for U.S. 92/ International Speedway Blvd. eastbound to Williamson Blvd. south to S.R. 400/Beville Rd. where both directions will be open.
  • In case exit 261A is missed please continue to exit 256, where motorists can travel west on Dunlawton Ave. /Taylor Road (S.R. 421) to Williamson Blvd. north, to Beville Road (State Road (S.R.) 400 where both directions will be open.

 

I-4/S.R. 400/Beville Road Eastbound Off-Ramp to I-95 Northbound Closed December 5, 6 and 7

  • Motorists will continue on S.R. 400/Beville Rd. to Williamson Boulevard north to U.S. 92/International Speedway Blvd. west where access to I-95 north will be open.
