Brevard County S.R. 50 (Cheney Highway) at U.S. 1 (South Washington Avenue) in Titusville will close starting 7 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, for up to three weeks to repair damage caused by Hurricane Irma. Traffic will be detoured as follows:

  • Eastbound traffic on S.R. 50 will travel north on South Hopkins Avenue and continue east to U.S. 1 via Knox McRae Drive.
  • Westbound S.R. 50 traffic will travel north on U.S. 1, east on Knox McRae Drive and south on South Hopkins Avenue back to S.R. 50.

 

Electronic message boards will inform motorists about the road closure, and detour signs will direct traffic.

The repairs involve removing and replacing damaged asphalt and installing drainage structures.
