Orange County – SunRail has announced the following road closures and detours for railroad crossing upgrades for the weekend of May 19-21, 2017.
Pine Street in Orlando will be closed in both directions at the railroad crossing just west of South Orange Avenue and south of East Landstreet Road from 9 p.m. Friday, May 19, to approximately 7 p.m. Saturday, May 20. Motorists will be directed to use South Orange Avenue, Landstreet Road and Boyce Avenue as a detour.
East Landstreet Road will be closed in both directions at the railroad crossing just west of South Orange Avenue from about 7 p.m. Saturday, May 20, to approximately 7 p.m. Sunday, May 21. During the closure, traffic will be directed to use South Orange Avenue, Fourth Street and Boyce Avenue as a detour.
The closures are needed for construction of new curb and gutter, sidewalk, drainage and paving work, as well as signal work.
The work is part of SunRail’s Phase II South extension project, which is adding approximately 17.2 miles of new rail line between the Sand Lake Road station in Orange County and the Poinciana station in Osceola County. The project also involves double tracking most of the corridor and improving grade crossings.
