Road Closure, Detour on S. Peninsula Drive near Sunrise Boulevard
Volusia County – A section of State Road (S.R.) 441 (South Peninsula Drive) at the intersection with Sunrise Boulevard in Daytona Beach will be closed in both directions for about a week beginning Tuesday, May 16. The closure is needed to replace a section of damaged storm pipe that runs across South Peninsula Drive on the north side of the intersection with Sunrise Boulevard.
No driveways will be impacted by the closure.
During the road closure, traffic will be detoured as follows:
· Southbound traffic will be directed to turn left onto Park Avenue, right onto Blais Avenue, right onto Boyton Boulevard and left onto South Peninsula Drive.
· Northbound traffic will be directed to turn right onto Boyton Boulevard, left onto Blais Avenue, left onto Park Avenue and right onto South Peninsula Drive.
FDOT urges all drivers to slow down and use caution through the detour and in all construction zones.
The pipe replacement is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) maintenance project to clean and line the storm pipes under South Peninsula Drive from U.S. 92/International Speedway Boulevard to S.R. 421/Dunlawton Avenue.
