ORLANDO — Two ramps at the Maitland Boulevard (State Road 414)/Interstate 4 (I-4) interchange are closing through the weekend for bridge steel girder placement.
Motorists should expect a continuous closure of both the eastbound I-4 exit ramp to westbound Maitland Boulevard (exit 90B) and the eastbound Maitland Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound I-4 beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, December 16 and ending at 6 a.m. on Monday, December 19. The ramps are temporarily closing so crews can safely place steel girders for a portion of the new westbound Maitland Boulevard overpass.

At the end of next week, a new ramp from westbound I-4 to westbound Maitland Boulevard and northbound Lake Destiny Road is scheduled to open. Motorists will need to begin exiting approximately 1500 feet sooner to access the new ramp. View the handout here: http://fdot.tips/WBI4exitWB414.
Of the 15 major interchanges undergoing reconstruction as part of the 21-mile I-4 Ultimate project, the Maitland Boulevard interchange has some of the most noticeable changes in traffic patterns. The project is elevating Maitland Boulevard, adding ramp access points and eliminating select traffic signals to promote better traffic flow. Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.
Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
