Road Closure, Detour on S. Peninsula Drive near Richards Lane
Volusia County – A section of State Road (SR) 441 (South Peninsula Drive) between Richards Lane and Florida Shores Boulevard in Daytona Beach Shores will be closed beginning Monday, Oct. 24. The closure, which is expected to last about a week, is necessary to replace a section of storm pipe under the road.
The active work zone will extend roughly 65 feet between 2638 and 2636 S. Peninsula Drive. No driveways will be blocked and local traffic will be able to access residences along South Peninsula Drive.
During the road closure, traffic will be detoured as follows:
· Southbound traffic will be directed to turn left onto Florida Shores Boulevard, right onto SR A1A, right onto Richards Lane and left onto South Peninsula Drive.
· Northbound traffic will be directed to turn right onto Richards Lane, left onto SR A1A, left onto Florida Shores Boulevard and right onto South Peninsula Drive.
The pipe replacement is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) maintenance project to clean and line the stormwater pipes under South Peninsula Drive from US 92/International Speedway Boulevard to SR 421/Dunlawton Avenue.
