The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting a project alternatives meeting for the US 301 Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study. We will present design alternatives to widen US 301/State Road (SR) 35 from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway. The study limits extend from County Road (CR) 470 E to SR 44, a distance of approximately eight miles. We will also present several alternatives that realign US 301 south of the City of Coleman. This project alternatives meeting is being conducted to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements.
The meeting will be Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at the Trinity Baptist Church – Fellowship Hall, located at 3305 E CR 468, Wildwood, FL 34785. It will be an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Attendees may watch a video presentation that will be running on a continuous loop, review study information, and discuss the design alternatives with the study team.
The information that will be presented at this meeting will also be available on the study website, www.us301sumter.com, on September 22, 2016.
