Major Traffic Shift Scheduled for I-75 in Bushnell
Sumter County – In order to move traffic to the newly constructed northbound State Road 48 (Exit 314) overpass, project contractor, The Middlesex Corporation, will close the southbound and northbound inside lanes on Interstate 75 from 8 p.m. Thursday, July 14, to 7 a.m., Friday, July 15.
Work crews will be restriping and removing the temporary barrier wall. Following this work, two lanes will be maintained in both directions while the contractor removes the temporary crossovers.
After the traffic shift, the northbound lanes at the overpass will no longer transition across to the southbound bridge. The shift is part of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) I-75 widening project from the Hernando County/Sumter County line to County Road 470.
Project updates will be posted to the FDOT’s Central Florida website at www.cflroads.com. To ensure your safety and the safety of others, please exercise extra caution when driving through construction work zones.
