Volusia County – Eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) traffic is expected to be shifted to the westbound lanes approaching the US 92 exit ramp overnight Sunday, July 10 to Monday, July 11. There will be intermittent  short-term exit-ramp closures. Traffic will be rerouted to I-95 during these closures.

To accommodate the shift, motorists can expect lane closures along I-4 eastbound to begin around 8 p.m. for barrier wall relocation and striping.  The shift is expected to occur in the early morning hours of Monday, July 11.

The traffic shift is part of the I-4 widening project between SR 44 and US 92.  Current projections are for construction of the new lanes to be completed and traffic flowing in its final configuration this fall.

FDOT urges motorists to use caution when traveling through construction zones and be aware of changing traffic patterns.  Electronic message boards and other signs will be used to assist drivers.

The schedule is weather permitting.  For construction-related questions, please contact Carolyn Fitzwilliam, Public Information Coordinator, at 386-740-3566 or by email at carolyn.fitzwilliam@dot.state.fl.us

Please remember to slow down and stay alert through construction zone.
