Volusia County -- Northbound State Road (SR) 15A (North Spring Garden Avenue) between Glenwood Road and Brandywine Road in DeLand will be temporarily closed to traffic to allow the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to repair a depression in the road. The closure is expected to begin Tuesday, July 5 and last for approximately 21 days.
Traffic will be detoured around the work zone using US 92 westbound to US 17 northbound.
The southbound lanes of SR 15A between US 17 and Glenwood Road will remain open. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained.
For safety, traffic has been reduced to one northbound lane in that area since the depression appeared in early January. Repairing the depression will require compaction activities and deep subsoil pressure grouting. The project also involves restoring 200 feet of pavement. The contractor, Southern Road and Bridge, plans to complete most of the work during the day. The pressure grouting process will require continuous 24-hour operations for a few days.
The schedule is weather permitting.
