The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a public information workshop for a safety improvement project along Alafaya Trail (SR 434). The project begins north of Colonial Drive (SR 50) and extends to Strategy Boulevard in Orange County. The improvements include left turn lane extensions, crosswalk striping, median access restrictions and median closures in multiple locations along the roadway. The estimated construction start date is in the fall of 2013.
The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, November 15, at the Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church located at 1801 Rouse Road in Orlando. It begins with an open house at 6 p.m., includes a presentation at 7 p.m., and ends at 8 p.m. Staff members will be available to discuss the project and answer any questions you may have before and after the presentation.
