The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a public hearing regarding the PD&E study which examines plans to improve SR 19 in Lake County. The project proposes to widen SR 19 from two to four lanes from County Road (CR) 48 to CR 561, a distance of approximately 4.9 miles, and includes the Howey Bridge over Little Lake Harris.

The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, November 27 at the Adventure Christian Church located at 3800 SR 19 in Tavares. It begins with an open house at 5:30 p.m. and includes a presentation at 6:30 p.m. This hearing is being conducted to provide interested persons the opportunity to express their views concerning the location; conceptual design; and social, economic and environmental effects of the proposed improvements. A copy of the project newsletter, which was sent to area property owners and stakeholders, is attached for your information and use.
