The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), with the A1A Action Team, is holding a workshop to discuss the A1A Multimodal Corridor Planning & Engineering Analysis Project which addresses multimodal transportation along State Road (SR) A1A from the Pineda Causeway to SR 528 in Cape Canaveral.
The workshop is being held to seek input and direction regarding potential corridor initiatives and projects; basically what should SR A1A look like in the future, based on projected growth and increasing vehicular, pedestrian, bicycle and mass transit needs. The roadway serves Patrick Air Force Base, commercial, residential and tourist areas, as well as the growing port at Port Canaveral.
The workshop is scheduled Wednesday, October 17 at the Cape Canaveral Public Library located at 201 Polk Avenue in Cape Canaveral. It begins at 4 p.m. and concludes at 6 p.m. and includes a brief presentation regarding planning and assessment tasks completed over the past few months followed by hands-on planning exercises to identify specific corridor solutions. The public is encouraged to attend.
Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status. Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services, free of charge, should contact: Ginger Corless at 407-616-5500, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org at least seven days prior to the meeting.
