Sanford- Motorists who use the State Road (SR) 417 Interchange in Seminole County will need to follow a detour route early next week and crews perform work in the area.

 

The closure and detour will affect traffic going from northbound SR 417 to westbound I-4, as well as traffic exiting westbound I-4 to go to SR 417 southbound. Traffic entering southbound SR 417 from International Parkway will be detoured, too.

 

In short, any traffic that passes under the I-4 overpass at SR 417 will be detoured.

 

The work schedule is:

• 10 p.m. Monday, September 17 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, September 18
• 10 p.m. Tuesday, September 18 until 6 a.m. Wednesday, September 19
• 10 p.m. Wednesday, September 19 until 6 a.m. Thursday, September 20

 

The interchange is expected to be open in time for the morning rush hours.

 

The Florida Department of Transportation urges motorists to drive carefully in construction zones, and encourages all vehicle occupants to buckle up. Safety belts save lives.
