The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a public hearing regarding plans to improve access management along US 1 in Flagler County. The purpose of this project is to improve safety along US 1, near the intersection of CR 304. It has been determined that both safety and operations can be improved by converting the full median opening just south of CR 304 to a northbound directional median opening. This modification will reduce the number of potential conflict points by restricting turning movements at this median opening. The project will be constructed with paving operations along US 1 in 2013. The purpose of this public hearing is to receive public input regarding the proposed access management change.
The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, October 9th, at the Hilton Garden Inn located at 55 Town Center Boulevard in Palm Coast. It begins with an open house at 5:30 p.m. and includes a presentation at 6:00 p.m. Staff members are available to discuss the project and answer any questions you may have after the presentation. Participants may also provide public comment directly to a court reporter at any time during the meeting. Written comments can be submitted at this hearing or by mail no later than October 23rd to Mr. David Dangel, P.E., Public Involvement Coordinator, Inwood Consulting Engineers, 3000 Dovera Drive, Suite 200, Oviedo, Florida 32765. All comments, written and oral, will become part of the project’s public record.
Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or family status.
