Orange County – Work continues on I-4 just south of Orlando, and motorists need to be on the lookout for multiple lane closures. These lane closures are needed so that beams and support structures can be installed for a new overpass. The overpass is part of a project by Orange County Roads/Public Works.
The contractor will do progressive lane closures on the westbound lanes of I-4 and divert traffic to a new temporary inside lane. The contractor will also close westbound on-ramp at Central Florida Parkway during overnight hours.
Here is the lane closure schedule for the westbound side between Central Florida Parkway and Apopka Vineland Road:
• September 17th (Monday night) – September 18th (Tuesday morning)
• 09:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Single Lane
• 11:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Double Lane
• Lanes Open by the Morning Rush Hour(s)
Be advised that weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances could affect construction schedules.
The Florida Department of Transportation urges motorists to drive carefully in construction zones, and encourages all vehicle occupants to buckle up. Safety belts save lives.
