Motorists Will Encounter Overnight Lane Closures

Orlando/Orange County – Two projects on Interstate 4 will affect motorists traveling overnight during the upcoming week of August 19th through the 25th, just south of the Orlando metro area.

One project involves paving the westbound lanes of I-4 from Sand Lake Road, to Conroy Road. Motorists can expect single and double lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Another project involves building a new bridge over I-4 by Orange County Roads/Public Works. It’s occurring near the tourist areas, and will affect eastbound and westbound Interstate 4 traffic between Apopka Vineland Road and Central Florida Parkway. As many as three lanes could be closed during the overnight hours. Traffic should be back to normal by the morning rush each day.

Remember, inclement weather or other circumstances could alter construction schedules.

The Florida Department of Transportation urges you to buckle up, stay alert, and don’t text and drive.
