The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a public information meeting regarding plans to conduct a corridor planning study along Pine Avenue (US 441/ SR 500) from CR 475 to NW 2nd Street, in Marion County. The purpose of this public information meeting is to receive public input and to gain ideas from the local community about potential multimodal transportation improvements to help transform the Pine Avenue corridor into a walkable urban thoroughfare. Multimodal projects are essential to network efficiency, safety and livability within the context of future transportation needs.

 

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 25 at the Ocala Police Department in the Community Room, located at 402 Pine Avenue in Ocala. The corridor has been divided into three segments with a meeting devoted to each.  Please see attached flyer for a map showing each of the segments.

 

1. Segment one is from CR 475 to SR 464.  The meeting regarding this segnment is from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
2. Segment two is from SR 464 to SR 200.  The meeting regarding this segment is from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
3. Segment three is from SR 200 to NW 2nd Street.  The meeting regarding this segment is from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

 

All meetings are open to the public. Although you may choose to attend the meeting for the segment which affects you most, you are welcome to attend all three if you desire. Staff members will be available to discuss the study and answer any questions you may have after each of the presentations. Participants may also provide public comment at any time during the meeting.
