Brevard County - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Five is conducting a public information meeting for the Cheney Highway (SR 50) milling and resurfacing project. The project limits are from I-95 to US 1, a distance of approximately 3.5 miles.

This project will include milling and resurfacing the existing roadway and restriping of the final roadway surface. The new signing and pavement markings will eliminate on-street parking and designate bicycle lanes. A new traffic signal is proposed at the intersection of SR 50 and Hickory Hill Road. Median openings and turn lanes are modified. The project is currently funded for the 2012 fiscal year.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, September 15th at the Hope Community Fellowship Church located at 2929 Cheney Highway, Titusville, Florida. The meeting begins with an open house at 5 p.m. and includes a presentation at 6 p.m. The meeting concludes at 7 p.m. Information on the roadway design is available at the meeting. Staff members are also available to discuss the project and answer any questions you may have. The presentation will be recorded.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability or family status. Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or person who require translation services (free of charge) should contact Amanda Shupert at 407-644-1898 or email ashupert@metriceng.com at least seven days prior to the meeting.
