DeLand/Daytona Beach- Motorists traveling US-92 (SR-600) between DeLand and Daytona Beach are seeing changes during their commute.  A traffic shift is scheduled Tuesday, August 2, 2011. It continues through the month of September.

Beginning August 2nd, motorists are using only one side, which means the existing westbound lanes are now two-way traffic. This extends from Kepler Road in DeLand, to just past Clarks Bay Road, west of Daytona Beach. Another traffic shift is scheduled in June. Weather and unforeseen circumstances could affect the construction schedule.

Superior Construction Company and its subcontractors are performing the work.  The project lasts approximately 680 calendar days, weather permitting, and costs a little more than $13.6 million.

Motorists are urged to slow down, obey the posted speed limit, and drive with extreme caution through the work zone. Traffic control devices and variable message boards are in place to assist motorists Speeding fines are doubled in the construction zone when workers are present.
